Thanks alot! Still very much inline with it! Every car looks good in this color I think!
It was the hardest decision ever.. Back in 2003 I think when I decided to respray the car.
I went to about 8 car dealers looking at cars in the showroom to pick a color.
Came across a MG ZT190 in Xpower grey and liked it alot.
Then had the bodyshop mix in a few extra bits of cristal metalic. So its a custom Xpower grey .
The pictures in the first post are great but will never get that color again as its impossible to match.

Will go for a matt grey full wrap when I get the widebody on.

This color realy does come alive when the sun hits it though!

Right,
Time for a story....

The 8th of May was the second round of the Dutch Time Attack.

I worked hard getting my car ready and improved.
The ATR gearbox was installed and tested.. all seemed ok...
Problems with the turbo to manifold bolts coming loose where solved.
And I decided to fit a plywood splitter and carbon look canards I had laying around.

The splitter goes all the way till my engine ( small cutout for the exhaust)

Also decided to sticker the car so it looks a bit more like a track car instead of a boyracer.. :D

Its was a beautiful day but very hot.
Also the two days before the track was used for the 12H endurance race .. which ment there was a lot of bad rubber on the track.

I was glad I rented a pitbox as it was nice and cool.. but my slightely old toyos 888 where very hot and i was all over the place..

I was nervous as hell :D
The practice session was good exept I was very hot in the car and I didn't let my tires cool enough inbetween the laps.
Also my transponder wasn't working so had to change that.
I managed to break my PR in the first few laps without even trying..

Again my gearbos started struggling and it was hard to get it in 3rd and 4th gear..

The warm up was very short, after two laps i entered the pits to have my tire pressure checked but then a car whent off the track and the yellow flag came out.
When the blue flag came out i only managed to do 1 lap, not setting a time..

Time to qualify for the finals... I needed to be in the top 3 and there where about 8 cars.. all of them done quicker rounds than me so far. so had to step it up..

First a warmup lap.. than I started to push my limit a bit more..
All went well ... untill the end of the straight... Again I couldn't downshift and my tires locked up..
Too scared to just turn in I decided to keep my wheels straight and enter the gravel..
Seen lots of cars go in and drive out..

BIG MISTAKE I aimed at the wrong spot.. there was a big hole followed by a bump...
I wasn't even going that wast.. but managed to wreck my front bumper and splitter..
also the frame i made for the intercooler and radiator where damaged..

I was pulled out and slowely drove to the pitbox :|

All over I thought... bummer... hope I can still drive it home...

Then my friend came is...
David David you have to drive the finals, you must.... WHAT??? why?? ...

Well the other cars are out aswell! 3 had broken and one was too slow.... I managed to qualify.. and only had to do two laps to get third place

So off with the race suit.. on with the workoverall.. and lets fix the damn thing..

Jacket it up...
First checked for mayor damage.. frame was ok oilpan ok.. .. tires where good.. radiator has a nice impression of my turbo in it and the intercooler has some dents too.. but the engine still ran fine..no leaks....
Broke off some bits of the bumper and drilled some holes so i could tie wrapped it to the frame..

Lots and lots of dust sand and gravel.... it was everywhere
just about intime I changed into my race suit again and got in my car..

The frist lap was the "IN"lap then the HOT lap..
I was just testing the car now.. affaid something would go wrong.. When everything felt ok and I just whent for it..
My time wasn't very good but still a lot better than last time attack.. and magaged to get third place in the PRO FWD class..

VIDEO of my fastest lap and crash :ugeek:

My plans...
No widebody just yet.. Gonna get a cheap front bumper.. make another splitter and fit bigger wheels and tires with some bolt on wide fenders
Also Rich at PAW is gonna build me a gearbox that will hold with a KAAZ plate diff and carbon syngro's.
Next time attack is on the 30th of Juli so will have some time.. hopefully have time to test before that..

Thanks for watching

Congrats bud!! The car looks awesome!!

I remember when I used to get really nervous. I could hardly eat all day.

Shame about the off, I don't think the angle of the gravel trap helped. When I went off I was lucky my splitter and bumper held up well.

thats a brilliant update 8-)

you should buy @bb1boy front bumper (wings west big mouth) to replace your broken one.
the big mouth bumper is made of thick ureathane so doesnt crack on impact - would look good on your car :)
