Not been doing much on the lude lately, due to horrible weather, and still not having moved into our barn yet, but did get round to doing the following -
- Removed all roof trim, in preparation for moonroof install
- Painted front strut brace (the one I bought on LG) b;ue and fitted it. One of the round 'feet' of the strut broke (old, rust, and being dropped on it's end will do it), but it still fits in place and is held solid with two bolts, instead of three
- Detached 4WS ECU and left it sitting where rear seat used to be, so I could install rear strut brace (JapSpeed one - also painted blue). unfortunatelky, the feet do not sit flush against the body, so have to grind a little off (from strut, not body) to make it fit
- Fitted gas shocks to the bonnet so I don't have to work around the bonnet stay when working in the engine bay
- Tried to fit a cheap 'universal' CAI, and failed miserably, as the pipes were completely the wrong size and shape, no matter how I combined them - will save up for a proper one rather
As we hope to move into the barn on Friday, as soon as we've sorted access to the barn (it has a horrible ramp on the doorway, which needs sorting for our low cars), I'm hoping to get cracking on following -
- fit the OEM shocks and springs
- moonroof conversion
- put back the 'sports' rear silencer to see how she sounds now that she doesn't have a massive hole in the exhaust
- spraying the spare rocker cover I bought with wrinkle effect black paint
- fit braided brake hoses
- fit EBC Yellowstuff brake pads
- replace all filters
- drain oil
- drain brake fluid
- fit rocker cover gasket
- fit custom silicone radiator hoses
If all goes well, I'll have all the above done in time for JapFest
