I have a M2J4 gearbox with relatively short gears (its from a 2.0 non vtec) and need a different fd.

Can anyone talk some sense into me what to get?
The service manual says that the M2J4 has a FD of 4.266. I have a spare 4.062 FD from my M2F5 if you are interested in making your gearing longer?
I will have to look into this first but it seems like a good option.
But sinds I got a big turbo I might benefit from the short gears afterall.
Thank you for the offer, I know where to find you!

Well...
Engine is back..
pistons look great. cylinder walls bored out again just a few 0,0 mm
Everything cleaned and checked. new bearing liners, new L19 ARP conrod bolts instead of the ARP 2000, waterpump and timingbelt ..

I'm going weld some extra supports on the engine mounts first before fitting the engine.
Also thinking about isolating the firewall and replacing the brace booster and master cylinder as they are still the origional.

Found some floor tiles on a dutch ebay like website, gor 60m2 for 100euro. the floor tiles are very dirty but clean up nice.
Its a pain in the A to clean though.. and still looking for the right de-greaser. some need another clean but you get the picture. its alot better than the uneven concrete floor!

Fast work.

I had been wondering about those floor tiles for under the ramp in the barn, but the thing putting me off was fluid spills leaking through the joins and just sitting under the tiles, so it still stains the concrete

Yeah but you know an amateur chemist ;)

I'd still do it wurly. Stack them all on end, coat the mating surfaces in liquid repellent and then assemble.

Guess my floor is more interesting than my engine

I don't spill much , and the joints are very very tight, have to use a rubber hamer to get theM in place. Water just sits on the tiles and joints . I have about 3 catch trays and a massive one to catch leaks/fluids. Also those garage absorb grains or what ever they are called work well.

Most of it is done , will need a little more cleaning at some places and a few corners around the car lift.
