Tickling your fancy then Scott? I know you've longed for a JRSC for a while now.

Id love one. If I was to get one I'd still install it faster than you.

Nitin are you saying I'm hung like a black bull?

You'll never find one, and even if you do, you'll go down all the plans I have to do a good job with it not just slap it on.

I know, I'm just :poke:

I won't have the last laugh, I know how damn long this is taking - but mine will be somewhat special in the end. 8)

I havn't trawled the net for other JRSC builds for a while and a few have sprung up recently which are really motivating me. This is probably THE most modified of the lot, in a Del Sol, H2B, 11.5 C/R built block, COP, etc. He's still to get it running but going through his thread this guy gets stuck in, check it out:

http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2523935&page=24

Others that have inspired me recently:

Should be something to get yours and Ratty's juices going. :scaredtoss:

BUILD PART 4) - Parts (Cont’d) - Another Parts Roundup

Post by nucleustylzlude » Thu Jan 09, 2014 2:05 pm

BUILD PART 4) - Parts (Cont’d) -Another Parts Roundup

More Parts!

So the Maths for the last year has gone as follows:

Baby = No garage time = Spending money on ebay, etc = More parts to fit = More work and time to finish = Even more of a slow-ass build!

It’s not looking good for May 10th Japfest as a target date is it? We’ll see what I can do.

Before cracking on with more updates on the build, I need to do another roundup of all the bits I’ve bought over the last year or so. More pics than words now. Some items now supersede previous posts – I’ll have to go back and add an EDIT to point to here for it to make sense.

Right in date order here goes:

Found a couple of wheel covers when the refurbed Volks are off the car:
Image

New Cam seal, I still have the original OEM one on my head, which has started to leak:
Image

I picked up a single spare original Volk Racing centre emblem for my wheels as they are missing the originals. It’s not the correct one, but close enough. Still only 1 though. :(
I annoyingly missed out on a complete set from Yahoo Japan – they went for a mere £49. :(
Image

Took delivery of my new slim cooling fans to clear the new manifold and thicker rad. Went for 2 x Spal units:
Image
Image

Their specs:

Bought a cheap ali drink flask to use as a cheap rad expansion tank:
Image

Got some ali custom bucket seat mounts, but plans on seats have changed a little, which I’ll post shortly:
Image

Got most of my new hose clips – Mikalor stainless – some marine grade. Just need to get some for the chargecooler system plans once I know it’s a goer:
Image

Courtesy of Nafeman stepping aside due to short funds, I snapped these up – ST suspension uprated 25mm sway anti roll bars, bushes and mounts:
Image
Image

Also in the suspension department are some Megan adjustable rear toe arms, should make my 2WS install a little easier:
Image
Image

Of course, following the group buy, I have my Innovative Motor Mounts. I also have the traction bar to replace the front subframe as this clashed with my new manifold downpipe too. No pics of that yet:
Image

Picked up some very nice parts for an engine build some time in the future, consisting of a new oil pump part finished with the balancer shaft removal kit, the rest of it is winging its way to me soon courtesy of Cebul. 8)
Image

Also for the next engine, some 11.5:1 compression, 88mm Wiseco pistons, these things are the sex!
Image
Image
Image

And to install them from the same seller as a deal, an 88mm ARP piston ring sleeve:
Image
Image

Next up was a better clutch, an ACT Street clutch courtesy of Dino from the 270hp red lude (previously Taffyludes). Its not done lot of miles, plenty of meat left on it. Specs say it should cope with the power I’m expected to put down. I still have the Stage 4 XTD clutch, but plan to sell it:
Image

I also bought a rear diffuser (of sorts), which is a Varis item for a Mitsi Evo 7-9 item??? I’ve got quite a few items for this build from Evo’s now! Random! Here it is:
Image

And fitted to a couple of cars:
Image
Image

So I’ll be losing my UKDM rear lip, hopefully a new bumper without the fog hole cut out to mate to it. But this isn’t fundamental for the build to get it back on the road.

Also finally had my Spoon mirrors sprayed up with my Mugen skirts:
Image

They look a little orange peeled in the pic, they aren’t that bad. I’ve also been working on some custom baseplates courtesy of some hacking up of some spare lude mirrors:
Image
Image

It’s the metal mount inserts which are taking an age to cut through, thick cast steel! Half tempted to buy another cheap copy set from the states for a DC2, for the baseplates and sell on the mirrors and the EG plates I have spare…

I sold on my aftermarket HKB hub, stalk and custom wiring harness to Mart609, which loses SRS but retains cruise. Seeing as I dumped the cruise control gubbins a while ago now, figured it was wasted on mine. So current state of it is this:
Image

New non SRS, non cruise stalk unit:
Image

And looks like I’ll be swapping out my rare Mugen SW2 wheel as track plans will no doubt ruin this pristine example. I have a OEM size Momo replacement, figured I’d need the leverage with the PAS gone:
Image

Just waiting on @Mart609 (cough) to send me his old SRS/cruise/horn hub to loom part to modify again.

I have a couple of hubs to try from Mart in exchange for my setup:
Image

Still debating on whether to use a snap-off connector – I expect I will get an NRG unit soon.

Carbon! Bought some more carbon bits. Firstly a carbon fibre sunroof replacement panel (thanks Pete). Scared to take it out of its packaging until I fit it, so crappy pic:
Image

And finally, been after one for a while, but a Seibon carbon boot. This used to be on Grafter’s lude (LB). Some guy bought it, refurbed it back to new and sold it to little ole me! :D
On Grafter’s lude:
Image

No pics of it out its packaging yet for the same reason as the sunroof but here is a little refurb guide the guy did on his blog (pretty cool):

https://madplanetdesignsolutions.wordpr ... -boot-lid/

I also bought a new brake pipe flaring tool as my buddy kept getting left high and dry without his tool at his workshop. After some great reviews I bought the new UK manufactured Powerhand. It uses the same design as the on car tools, but just works so simple, leaves perfect flares and is a steal at around £35. 8)
Image
Image

I also picked up the last couple of connectors to complete the installation:
Image

Another random purchase from another vehicle. My used 3.0” cat back system has a very small back box silencer on it and it has a little rattle, which suggests some of the baffles have gone. I know this thing is going to be loud, so I want to give it every chance possible to not only breathe, but be allowed on Castle Combe’s noise limited track. I expect I’ll also need an inline silencer or two on the mid pipe and maybe a bung for a last port of call.

So what did I buy? Here’s a clue:

Image

We know, love and trust this brand on our ludes, but I need 3.0” of love for my beast. Let’s see…R34 Skyline should do:

Image
Image

So well built and like new! Pretty decent shape to fit where the lude’s OEM location is. Just needs a little cut and shut and the hangers put in the right place. Hope to get it to the exhaust place before tuning. 8)

I think that’s enough for now. Got another update written, I’ll post it in a couple of days. :D

Cheers,

Rob
