lol, really? I doubt that

Oh one word of advise, you need to remove the headlights before removing the wings, but the drivers side headlight has taken a knock and the mounts were fecked so i didn't bother, i'll stick my spare good headlight on

Looking good mate! Glad to see you're back on your way to have a fully function (and non-wonky!) lude 8-)

Winter Blues

Post by Ammo » Sat Feb 05, 2011 2:39 pm

Ok update, sort off

Winter blues struck and I'd lost the love for the Lude, also managed to fubar an alloy so i'm back on WEAK offset 15's so the car looks horrible in my eyes :(

So I'm trying to kick start myself into falling in love with it again, and swapping over the mass amount of parts I have.

M2A4 just doesn't do it for me, need to swap in my M2B4 for some LSD goodness, so then I can fit my Fibanza fly wheel and exedy clutch, couple that with the FBM short shifter, it will be a different car :D

From the last update pics, I have now fitted new doors and wings which had JDM wind deflectors fitted.

Also removed all of the aircon stuff back to the bulkhead, as the aircon was dead anyway

Deffo have a friend if you ever swap doors, they weigh a tonne and I did it by myself, BUT drivers door is spot on, too spot on really feels like you haven't shut it when you close it lol.

Passenger side needs some tweaks, but works ok.

Piccies before I had to swap the Alloys and cleaned it lol

Pics i was playing with "Light Art" so forgive the standard, deffo need some lessons from merlin :D

Next hope for good weather and i can crack on with swapping some parts, unfortunately no 17" wheels means my Hi-spec monster 4 brake set up is on the shelf :(

Might try and remove the aircon parts from behind the dash if anyone has idea's? cos it's warm in the car lol :D

Bucket Seats Test Fit

Post by Ammo » Sat Feb 05, 2011 2:40 pm

Well set out today to fit my amp, thinking it would be easy as the car is already wired for one.

Then found out the power cables are massively over speced 4AWG cables ( Battery cable) which is way over kill for my little amp, Ideal for relocating the battery in the boot though  so i'll swap that out for something thinner and easier to work with.

So decided to trial fit a bucket seat to see how I could mount one in on a set of rails I have.

Image

Rails in place, I'm hoping to keep the mount for the seat belt latch thing so I can still run original seat belts for now

Image

Seat trail fitted in to see where it could be attached to on the rails, but it looks like as the seats are bottom mounts I'm going to have to make something up for the seats to bolt too and then bolt that to the rails somehow.

Image

Enough room to keep the OEM seat belt mount which is good

And what it looks like from the outside

Image

Don't think it looks too out of place considering

CarPC Part 1

Post by Ammo » Sat Feb 05, 2011 2:41 pm

Cold today so been playing around with the car PC

Got it mounted to the top of the glovebox

And been playing around with emulators :D

Also ordered some carbon vinyl to wrap the screen surround in as I figured that I'd never get it to look right painting it (matching to the rest of the dash) so might as well do something different looking completely

The bits that arn't covered are covered by the gear lever surround so hidden

Next is to get it fitted into the car, also need to relocate the cig lighter socket cos it's a pain in the ass not having one

Few pics of the screen trial fitted

Still got a few bits to sort out on the hardware side and sort out the software as it takes ages to boot at the mo so the screen will have to come out again

Centrafuse is prettier though, I'm running tinyXP but boot times are still too long for my liking.

Need to integrate Sygic Drive into it as well for the sat nav
