IMHO,

S-Spec > Type-S > H22A8 > JDM Sir (manual BB6) > Standard Prelude Manual > Any 5G Auto > Any 4G

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, been a while since I have posted but I regularly read the forum.

Well yes actually, the car has done 3000miles in the first year I have had it in the UK and it passed its MOT and Honda health check (attempt to drum up business) without a single advisory or mark against it.

The cambelt job which we done when I first got it was a bit of a mare, the auto tensioner had seized up and also needed replacing, genuine Honda part not cheap. Whilst every valve clearance was in tolerance they weren't bang in the middle so they all got tweaked too. Obviously it has had an oil and filter change too.

With the summer being here I went to work on it recently, spending 3-4 days underneath the car with a pressure washer, degreaser, scrubbing brushes and sponges to get the underside thoroughly clean, I also chlorx salt remover rinsed it. The bumpers were removed along with the side skirts and all arch liners to thoroughly underseal it with 3 coats of Bilt Hamber Dynax UB, awesome stuff.

I have fitted my genuine Honda access mudflaps, not going to be everybody's tastes but they are to protect it. I also replaced the drivers interior door handle which had the chrome flaking slightly, along with the front window scrapers (black rubber things). Got some fine sandpaper and gtechniq c4 for the rear trims.

There was nothing wrong with them but to protect the calipers I have painted them with foliatec calliper paint in a silver colour to keep it as standard looking as possible. Whilst I was there I painted the brake splash shields and disc bells/edges with heat resistant black paint. And used the spare foliatec up on the exhaust heat shields after rubbing down and priming with bilt hamber zinc primer.

Couple of pictures from today;

Bit of time since last posting in this thread, to be fair other than driving it on the nicer days I have not done much with the car.

It gave it a spring clean the other day and clayed it, de tarred it, fallout removed it and machine polished with Meguiars M205 on a yellow pad before waxing again.

Whilst changing the oil and filter I have noticed the slightest weep of oil from the filter housing itself so I have found the correct o ring in my shed to replace the old perished one with.

I do have plans for the car now, starting with a cat back exhaust and I will be lowering it on coilovers in the near future so will hopefully get some decent pictures up then.

From there I may go to 17" alloys and have a look at the braking options, also consider doing the manifold and decat then perhaps injectors (if required) and a tune. Will I want adjustable cam gears for this?

One thing I have done is added the 'Prelude' front grille badge that a lot of the US Preludes have, to be fair it is something I have always wanted since I got the car.

So I finally bent over and ordered one from Honda;

Cleaned the honeycomb grille thoroughly and stole some make up pads from the wife to apply Gtechniq C4 permanent trim restorer to it;

Hey!!! :bat:

That's ornaments... buster!

Have to admit though, this S-Spec certainly deserves to be top of the list 8-)

Some great work there. Sometime I wish I had the patience for this kind of maintenance ;)
