I've fitted one to mine, after the seal came out 500 miles after a belt swap. Honda made it as an add-on for when a belt change is done, not quite a recall but a do it when it's next in.

I think you'll be OK, I don't think it's pressure that pushes it out, and you have no belt and therefore no spinning shaft.........

That's mine when I took it apart earlier this eve I ran the engine without any covers and you could see this mother moving in and out real quick

What's the end float spec in the service manual?

Why would it have suddenly developed excessive end float I wonder?

Cant remember off top of my head. I did look to see but i am sure its under 1mm. You have to remove a plate behind the flywheel to measure it . All i do know is mine was kind of resonating in and out when it was running

From what i have read the shafts have thrust washers just like a crank shaft. My only guess is that the oil feed to them has either blocked or they have had no oil for whatever reason. Or they just worn out maybe Not sure but i am not running them now so should be ok i hope.

I checked the manual last night, i think it is 0.01 - 0.06 mm, and it refers to thrust washers to keep them in check.
