Re: My new lover
So, a £k+ later I have a lovely boy with new boots and an old-new gearbox that won't go into fourth.
The question is, do I swap the gearbox for another old-new one (3-month warranty) and pay another several hundred quid to have that one put in, fingers firmly crossed it'll work this time, or do I drive this one like a granny to work and back, somewhere in the back of my mind hoping it'll magically recover once it's had an oil flush and time, or cut my losses, sell him and get a manual after all? Sigh.
I did enjoy the week of cruising to work I got before the old box started acting up. Hooray

Re: My new lover
Interesting idea! Any idea how much that would cost, even roughly? The shell is lovely and the engine just shuts down instantly at the turn of the key, no hesitation.4thgenphil wrote:Well if the shell is clean id be sorely tempted to manual convert that as rust free 5ths are getting hard to come by

Re: My new lover
I know right? It was love at first sight, we shared a wonderful honeymoon that lasted a week, and then the b*stard broke his leg, quit his job and started drinking. Still, I chose him so now I'm commited. Got to try and get him back on his feet again before considering divorcewurlycorner wrote:Ah major bummer - just read this post and was all excited and then immediately gutted for you!
