I brought an 03 plate Audi TT Quattro today..

Just after some advice - I'm not sure how long the Prelude is going to be sat on my drive for.. However I want to take some measures lessen the amount of work that will need doing when I come round to doing it.

I know the bodywork isn't mint at the moment but is there anything I can use to prevent it getting worse / body parts rusting (I don't have a garage) but I'm planning on cleaning all the inner arches out and getting a cover for it to stop it getting tortured by the sun (if we actually get any ) and keep it out of the rain.

I'm going to take it out once a week just round my roads to prevent everything seizing up but wondered if there is anything else I could do to prevent anything else going wrong while it's not in use.

A couple of the cheap dehumidifier tubs to go inside, to prevent moisture and mould.

If you're gonna be starting it up and running it round the block regularly, that's the main thing tbh.
A (good) cover is a good investment. If you want to ensure that the paint doesn't get scratched though, be aware that you will need to wash and dry the car before putting it on (each time)
A quick wash/dry should be fine though, don't need to go to town.
If you're not gonna be driving it regularly, make sure the coolant is new/correct concentration (old or weak antifreeze mix is bad for engine internal corrosion) and connect the car up to a smart car charger/battery conditioner - I did a review of some recently.

Think the brake callipers can seize up if the handbrake is on too tight for too long.
I know I had rear brake issues which needed sorting after being neglected and not driven, exacerbated by having the handbrake on too tightly, (if that makes sense).
I leave mine in gear and try to remember to lightly apply handbrake.

will look to keep the Lude in as good condition as I can while its off the road. The plan is too buy parts as and when until I've got a shed full

and then get it all done at once.

I love the idea of fast Audis, the Quattro heritage, the power, the red interior lighting and the quality feel.

It was the mind numbingly boring completely inert handling of a mk4 VW golf V6 4motion that brought me back to a Honda Accord type R!

Took the lude out round the block yesterday and everything about it is better than the TT

I was thinking instead of trying to source a polybush kit I may just buy normal bushes.
