Good luck BTW, good to see you back in a lude 8-)
I will give it a go. If it gives me the willys at any time then its coming off, I will buy a 2ws sub frame and keep it on standby, but with its very low milage I hope its going to be good. The red and the black ludes handled like it was on rails and gripped like jobby on a blanket. If I can get the same it can stay on. I am 50/50 on it ATM

Ammo, I will make sure silver becomes the fastest colour 8-)

My 18's didn't catch with my 4ws and I ran them easily for over a year.

mine was 18" and it was lowered 40mm on front and 30mm on back but you could only run 35 profile tyres ;)
the rear even with 4ws had more room than the front so no rubbing issues at all :D

Nice one Dbo, I will get me a new set of 18 inch Vred Ultracs ordered I think, for now though Im on budget tyres, £48 each 205/40/17, seem ok for the cash, soft compound, tuff sidewalls, will see how I get on with them.

it depends on how you like your ride to feel ;)
on mine 18" with 215/35/18 and lowered was NASTY  rough and in the wet the understeer was really bad :o
so i went to 17" with 215/40/17 and understeer was cured but everytime you hit a pothole you would lose traction and the car would skip sideways (felt like you were tramlining on the motorway in the loory tracks)
now on 16" with 205/45/16 on and it is wonderfull :D
so when the trackers keep going on about ludes only run well on 16" they know what they are talking about

if you want big wheels for the look then be prepared to compromise on the ride, but if you want the best ride and grip then IMHO don't go any bigger than !6's :P

Well I ran my old red lude on the 18s (see 18s in my avatar) for 5 years 225/40/18 on 40mm drop with standard shocks. With decent tyre the ride was good and firm, never jumped about either, it tram lined occasionally on poor roads. I have felt the difference between 15s and 18s, the tyre wall makes a lot of difference, if you have thin crap tyre walls it gets a bit sloppy, but good stiff solid walls with stock shocks on 40mm drop is the best ride I have had yet.

I can see the advantages of 16s, I have yet to find a set. I am yet to have spare cash too  I will see how I get on with these 17s, if I dont like em I will go back to the stock shock 40mm drop on 18s with vreds

Best dam tyres ever IMO !!!

I run on 17's and the tramlining is very noticable(but the wheels look pretty)
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.
