I use to have the Mcintosh double din unit found in JDM Subaru Legacys. It combines some of the inner parts and looks to the glorious Mcintosh MX406 pure SQ headunit for OEM subaru with minidisc player. The Mx406 is now a £1000+ headunit so this OEM version was good.
This was back in 2007 so photobicket destroyed my pictures.
But here is the minidisc version on nengun via Yahoo. Cassette also available.

Ooh ok bit out of my price range i was looking at something up to around £100 but these older systems do seem to be going up in price for the nostalgia, just always wanted a mini disc head unit, and the idea of busting out some 90's tracks on a minidisc really appeals, flashback to my youth and all that.

That unit I linked is £80, with shipping and vat from Japan it would be around £130-140.Max wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 11:00 amOoh ok bit out of my price range i was looking at something up to around £100 but these older systems do seem to be going up in price for the nostalgia, just always wanted a mini disc head unit, and the idea of busting out some 90's tracks on a minidisc really appeals, flashback to my youth and all that.
I meant the unit it's based on goes for over £1k.

Ah apologies my mistake, seems a good unit and great value with the amp but i wasn't really wanting to mess about with amps and stuff, thanks though i may just keep browsing the ebay listings from japan and see what comes up.

You can get a frequency compressor to go inline on the aerial, which means you can run the UK FM frequencies within the JDM FM range on the head unit.
Well that's the theory at least... Can't say it works very well on mine.
