As above, mine has broken where they commonly do where the return spring sits, I did temporarily fix it but it snapped again and i think its not salvageable now.

Ended up fixing the existing one, how hard is it to find a black door handle... very very hard!
Found the part that broke off in the door sanded it and every surface surrounding it on the door handle mech, then epoxy glued it all back together with some extra bits of plastic to reinforce it all, then cut a new groove for the spring retainer and its solid as a rock now, free fixes are the best

Yup! I never found the bit that snapped off - simply filed the remainder flat, used a dremel to make a pilot hole and then screwed in a small self tapping screw and hooked the spring around that.
I found that with the screw being slightly longer than the original hook - the spring was stiffer and so the handle felt nicer in the hand when opening.

Aaahh i think i read your post but it didnt make sense to me without looking at the part, then i totally forgot about what you said, a while ago i watched a video about how to fix plastic parts by HumbleMechanic using plastic welding and all sorts of things to epoxy stuff back together, this worked out quite well for fixing the headlight locating tabs so i took the same approach with the door handle.
