No idea, showing 14ish volts across the battery terminals, battery light and cat light both on, I've swapped out the voltage reg but no difference. Oh, and it also may have cooked my battery. :x

Have you tryed or tested the diode pack? It is testable. Other than that, as you say, could be an open circuit in the battery maybe :?

I've tried the car with a spare battery and also swapped the brushes, but still the same symptoms.

Occasionally the battery light used to flick on for a second at idle when cold(ish), going out once I started driving it. Always thought it was because I had an underdrive pulley on there, but I suspect an initial symptom. There is a rectifier test in the manual, which I might have a bash at tomorrow.

Yea. There's also tests for the other parts, stator and rotor. Good job chap. 8-)

Cheers, just seen the other tests, I'll have a play tomorrow. Just noticed this thread too:

Forgot to mention, I also have the 4WS and ABS light just like Gayno did.

Well, I ordered a new rectifier before I carried out any further tests, figured it could not be anything else really and also so I could get it before Christmas. Testing the old rectifier did show it was faulty and the new one has fixed it all nicely.
