I have to admit to having a total blonde moment. I just realised these covers do not secure using the manifold bolts - do they bolt into the mani itself? I've never owned a stock mani or cover. I'd have to either weld something to the mani or make a bracket up. Hmmmm haven't really thought this through!

There must be people who make or have modified these covers to fit over aftermarket headers??

I have created a new thread in the engine forum to open my dilemma up to a larger audience!

Thank you everyone for your input and I'll get back to you once I decide if i wanna try modding the stock cover or not!

They bolt on to brackets that are welded onto the manifold.
vtecmec added some to his dc sports header so that he could fit an oem heat shield, so it can be done (perhaps not with the manifold on the car though!)
