I took the BB1 to the local garage today and asked them to stick it up on the ramps and see if they could find any obvious cause of this vibration thru the gearstick.
The could not find what it was and there was nothing obvious like a loose heatshield.
Their observations were it is most noticeable from 3500-4000rpmit is in the left hand side linkage. They followed the linkage back to the gearbox and clamped it by hand the vibration was still evident inside the car.
No charge and asked me to let them know what the Honda Specialist finds out when he has a look on the 2nd of June.

Interesting if they can't find it even on the ramp.
Good luck for 2nd June - long time to wait! (almost as long as for me to post your part - I now have the packaging I was after btw and will get it out next week!)

could the vibration be from the gearbox? especially being only at a certain rpm - i'm useless with gearboxes but i'm just thinking out loud. maybe something from the gearbox or flywheel perhaps?

I dont think they spent much time on it. They replaced a driveshaft (burst outer cv boot) a couple of weeks ago and told me they spent 4 hours on that job - they were not too happy. Im probably close to getting banned from yet another garage

Nobody even the Honda Specialist want to work on the lude - its just too old.

Drax it could be gearbox related - vibration is there clutch in or out.
clutch is due a change in next 12 months as is the T belt.
I do have spare M2B4 (broken casing at vss) so parts out of that might come in handy if any internals are needed.
I have the euro r H22 engine - fancy having a look at that for me

MOT is booked for 9th June.
