Surely it's only a word in the same way that "transportation"

is though? i.e. A completely unecessary/superfluous word created by the yanks that gets exported and for some reason then included in the english dictionary?
NB: that is NOT a general xenophobic comment at yanks (in the same way Donald makes them about the Scots

) it's purely about how infuriatingly the language gets bastardised over there!!!

It's just as valid as mummification, with the suffix describing a process, with mummified being the end result.
I had the same argument with a lecturer last year that tried to tell me gyrencephalization wasn't a word. (Don't even mention the z because I have the right answer for that

)

That's theoretical though - the cost of extracting oil goes up exponentially though over time though...

Sad that the figure for "New Book Titles" is the only one in the Society and Media section to be virtually static.
