Virgin Media
I am up to here with them! I spent one and a half hours on the phone to them trying to fix my broadband. Google wont open unless you keep opening and closing it or switching off and on again. Finally fixed at 11pm last night. Yes you guessed it its bloody doing it again today. Tomorrow I will speak to them again and if I get no joy they can stick their sodding super hub!
and
They tell you to ring 118180 for directory enquiries free for my package.I spent 3 minutes talking to some muppet who could bearly understand English and could not even find the number I wanted and I get billed for it £5.14.
So I will be shutting down for the night now and If I am not back on here tomorrow you will know its all gone tits up again!(or I have burst a blood vessel)

I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

I've been on Virgin Media since it was Yorkshire Cable about 15 yrs ago. Never had any trouble, apart from one outage I can remember which took everything down inc. tv/phone/broadband for a several hours. Other than that, perfect!
Are you sure its the their service and not malware/virus on your pc?

I've only had trouble once or twice in the 10-12 years i've been with them.
Weird thing is when i had trouble with Virgin Broadband and used the service number i kept getting put through to India. the people could barely understand what i was saying and doub;ed the length of the call by repeating everything i said back ie: When i said "I'm having trouble recieving email on my computer and can't access the Webmail facility on the internet" an ethnic gentleman or lady would say "So mr.Bryant, I understand you are having trouble recieving email on your computer and can't access the Webmail facility on the internet"
Very annoying!!
The funny thing is after about 45 -50 minutes to india, i was no further forward. got cut off and had to call back and as a stroke of luck got someone in Manchester..............sorted the problem in 7 minutes!!

Being in the Bristol area too Paul, their broadband is pretty good, I'm getting around 26MB out of the 30MB in my area. I had some teething problems with the super hub when I got one last year. After a lengthy call to their Freephone customer services (Yes, India!) a rather nice lady managed to help out step by step and sort the problems out, changing a few settings, passwords, etc on the router (super hub). Stuff like this can grate on you though so feel your pain.
I wouldn't be happy about the directory enquiries bill though, that calls for a moan and refund I think! You sure it wasn't one of the many endless different directory numbers out there now? I loose track! I google a number if I need it, havn't called for one for years. But then I guess you need your broadband to do that!
If you have a smartphone, there's some good apps (or simply google from the phone) to get phone numbers.
Good luck sorting it out, get a cuppa and be prepared to spend a little time on the phone with an Indian call centre.

The one moan I do have with Virgin is the same as all service providers out their (and insurance), the minute a contract or offer is up you need to call to change, or threaten to leave to get another good package. They never pick up the phone and make you another package funnily enough. I know so many people that just let the standard rate tick along for years after, and end up paying £10-20 more a month for the same service as me.
Oh and as no-one reads the small print, if you can afford it, pay the line rental cost up front for the whole year. It's a lot cheaper and then brings down your monthly payments for the just the package you're on. I'm paying about £18 a month for my 30MB (26MB tested) broadband unlimited download limits, evening and weekend calls to landlines and the M+ TV Package. I thought that's not bad at all. With the one off payment for the line rental divided by 12, it worked out at just shy of £28 a month.
My workplace is on a road with major infrastructure, we've just had the newer 60MB upgrade and damn it's fast!

I never had an issue with my Virgin media. I have just got rid of it tho, reason being...virtually every channel is on free view now, on virgin your only essentially paying for sky 1, sky living and the discovery channels.
Switched my home phone and broadband to plus net and have freeview +HD (can still pause, rewind, record tv), I'm only missing a few channels but I'm saving £40 a month!!

I don't have cable in my area, and couldn't use them anyway. The gits can't guarantee a fixed IP address which is instantly game over for me
Plus.net for the win.

Plus net sounds good.
Forgot to add the M+ package we have includes a Tivo box, similar to the YouView boxes but a couple of other features. You still have access to lots of catchup telly, films on demand, You tube, games and other random internet stuff.
Oh and by the way, I don't work for Virgin. You'd think the way I'm rabbiting on about it!
