Moving car dilemma?

I need to move my 4th gen to another location to begin work on it. It doesn't have MOT or tax and it is not drivable. What of these three options are the best?

1. Rent trailer from Edinburgh for £120 for one day and get Vanzep to drive it. Can only do this on a Saturday.

2. Rent trailer from somewhere slightly further away for £80 for whole weekend and get Vanzep to drive it. Can only do this on the weekend.

3. Buy towing A-Frame for £110. Can move the car at any time and I get to keep the A-frame at the end. The car is not MOT'd or taxed though :?

Any ideas?

3 isn't legal. Looked into this myself. Unless you lift an axle off the tarmac, the car needs tax and MOT :(

Actually I have thought of a 4th option, Shiply, a car transport service.

Maybe phone around or visit some places nearby that might have a flatbed breakdown type lorry? IIRC a lot of breakdown recovery drivers are self employed and just respond to a call from the head office. You could probably tempt one with some cash monies.

Or if you have breakdown cover you could pull a fast one and if the driver kicks off when he arrives just line his pocket.

Im sure @newkid can get a loan of an A frame - weve used it before to tow ludes :) but if Lemon says its not legal then it wouldnt really be an option.....would it :?

Not big enough

I am hoping that the transporting service is economical as then it saves picking up and dropping off trailers.

judderod - That is who this shiply service gets to come and move your car for you. I am trying cartransportquoter.co.uk as well. Although I will look at other local guys as well, thanks.
