genuinely amazing the guy was taken on such a ride...... although this guy sounds like he was throwing lots of money at the solution and only noticed the problems afterwards

Yea a little bit of cop on wouldn't have hurt him

still though just goes to show the work people get away with and the pure cowboys out there.

This shows the benefits of fully researching, managing and building your own project. While I either bought in finished components or outsourced the specialist jobs, it is me who bolts everything together. Not like the Lude and the GTR are in the same ballpark

though.

Yeah, but... $250k blown with various combinations of being pursuaded to buy one set of parts and then before it's running with them be pursuaded to buy a completely different set of parts because the set he's just bought aren't up to the task?
The garage have taken him for a ride and done a crap job in quite a few places, but there is also definitely a case of 'more money than sense' with the owner too?

I agree, how can anyone accept and pay charges like that? Do you think the garage was charging in Japanese Yen and the dude was paying in US Dollars??
