Lude Generation

Jan and I were thinking about Dad & Son stuff. How about historic rallying? we mused. You know, regularity trials, that sort of thing.
The basic idea is to research the topic this year and go for it properly next year.
We've started the process:-

We weren't actually looking for a Dolomite Sprint - I'd a hankering for a Volvo Amazon - but this came up at a good price. A 3G Prelude would have been the right age, but I found it awkward to get in and out of it.

The car has been rallied a bit over the years and isn't the prettiest but it seems sound mechanically. The engine's strong and the overdrive gearbox works well.
So far, we've joined a couple of clubs, set up the twin SUs and got the tracking more or less straight. The speedo's just packed up ...
I'm sure there'll be lots of little things to sort before we get earnest.

Nice idea, Sailor and love the Dolly idea. However, I wonder if this belter could potentially scratch your itch...

I thought that might be a Sprint, always liked the front spoiler on these. Hope you have a lot of fun in it.

The Dolly is very nice.

The Prelude is a bit Lancia esque. The livery makes it.
