@indigolemon, what laptop brand did you recommend a few months ago? :D

Lenovo Thinkpads. Look at a T410, if that's too rich, then T400 is the model before. They're amazing bits of kit.

Google "tier one" they do corporate refurbs for decent prices.

Basically they are designed for corporate use, so things are just really nicely thought out and put together. The best bits:
  • Best keyboard I've ever used for typing - has drain holes so spilt drinks flow out the bottom of the laptop. You also have an LED built into the lid to light the keys in low light
  • Mag-Alloy chassis in the base of the laptop, makes it almost unbreakable
  • Totally user-serviceable, with a decent philips head screwdriver set you can take it apart completely (guides on the Lenovo site will help here)
  • All the hardware is really well matched. They choose the best bits they can get when the fit all these laptops together
I have an older one, a T60 - 32bit Core Duo processor at 1.86Ghz. It's still going strong, and I love it to bits :D

Screen resolution is quite important to me. I'll keep looking through their range :)

My T60 runs at 1400x1280, which is nice.

Mine is only 1024x768, how can I get the extra out of it? Or is it a screen issue (I'm sure you told me when you were here and I cant remember  )
