Finding more and more I need to be able to manipulate images before I run them through my sticker software, so i guess it's time I bit the bullet and tried to learn how to use photo editing software.
Anyone know of some good sites for tutorials etc?
Few things I'm interested in..
Isolating an image from a background
Simplifying an image (Taking detail out but you can still tell what it is, silhouette almost)

What version of Photoshop (if it is "Photoshop") are you using? I'm completely self-taught, so don't actually know of any tutorials. I can talk you through a few techniques when I've got a bit of time though if it's Photoshop you use.

I learnt by googling what I was trying to do went I couldnt figure it out. Youtube is a good place for tutorials, the vids make it easier to understand.

Curves is a good one to learn how to use properly, selective colour for small corrections.

I did Architecture at uni so I had to learn how to use Photoshop etc but after I left uni I forget everything..
But now I just use YouTube for tutorials and read through some forums and have friends who did the same degree as me that help out when they can.
