APEXI NEO - Is it worth it?

Gents,

A mate of mine used to have a civic and he sold it years ago. He was clearing out his garage and came across an Apexi Neo which he has offered me for £100. I think its a good price.

Has anyone got one installed? My car is only running an induction kit and a decat exhaust at this stage, but I am interested in at some point getting the single runner intake manifold for an ATR and putting it on my car.

My questions are:

1.) Will the Neo fine tune the car as it is with the existing bolt ons and possibly unleash some more power? I know the A8 engines are detuned Type S engines?

2.) Assuming I purchase an ATR manifold sometime next year, will the Apexi Neo tune it and unleash the extra power or is this something for a Hondata ECU?

3.) What are they like in general? I understand its a piggy back system, but for the price I am being offered I am actually quite tempted. What are the pros/cons of having one?

Cheers in advance

Ranj

I've not had one myself but I've always like them, especially the old silver and blue Vafc's. But £100 is a decent price for one, tho a hondata would be a better option for tuning hands down. Don't quote me as I've never used one but I think most people look on them as no more of a gimmick than something you'd tune your car with. That being said I'd still happily have one sat on my dashboard all lit up, with the jdm dash lights me thinks it would look 8-)

I agree a Hondata is way better but just as an option and for £100 it doesn't seem bad. They don't allow what a Hondata does but it does do a few things that my standard ECU cant lol
