Car choice advice

I expect a bit of a lean towards the lude but as its my fav car out of what ive owned to date... im ok with that haha

So my options...

Uk turbo 2000 subaru
Fast, 4wd and that noise... [SMILING FACE WITH HEART-SHAPED EYES]

Glanza
Very fast, fwd and the noise of BOV is beyond sexual... will beat most things up to 100mph

Prelude
The god of hondas, not easy turbod, fwd, vtec loves a bashing, slowest of the group

Accord type R
Same as prelude but all the extras, more powerful of the h22 engine, lsd etc
Doesnt look as good as prelude

Itll be a second car/classic insurance so for that reason an rx8 nearly climbed in, but very expensive rebuild costs.

Anyone have opinions on the list? Im leaning heavily towards lude or glanza at this point

From what I've seen on the Glanza/starlet forums glans need a rebuild every 6 miles.

Have a look for a diahatsu charade gtti I had one (wish I never sold it) they do 0-60 in the same time as a scooby and all from a 1litre
Or a toyota levin always took my fancy the ones with quad throttle bodies standard 8-)

ATR was my choice.

Had everything my 4G Lude had to offer, but better. Better handling, more power, better seats, 4 doors, loads of room.

My Lude had kerb appeal, but that took effort to get itvhow I wanted. Same with the ATR, it has taken a while to get how I want it, but it now commands the second glance when i park up like my Lude did.

Looking for something that can touch 250hp or stay with a scooby for not much dolla... if that exists haha
Or at least has a great sounding engine.

Glanza ticks all the boxes but small and deathtrap... ATR looks to be best bet but doubt ill get classic insurance

Our Legacy GTB was as quick as an Impreza and much more practical.

Jan now has a Volvo 940 saloon that's now almost as quick as the Legacy was and will soon match it with a bigger turbo and a better intercooler. The tuning potential is excellent even with stock internals, and it can be made to sound nice. I bet he'll never get it to handle as well as the ATR though.

Seriously, my eyes have been opened as to what you can do with these bricks. With not very much extra work, the mate who bought his 740 estate can now outrun the Prelude with ease on bigger roads.

I keep going thorugh a similar thing. Really want to have a go in an KB1 Honda Legend to see how i feel about it. 3.5l V6 300PS and circa 7 seconds to 60. More toys than you can throw a stick at, some of which are only being introduced into new high end motors, such as lane assist.

I don't think i could give up the ATR for one though, so the Legend would have to become a daily and parked on the street, which i don't fancy.

One to consider with 260bhp and AWD

Would be the Mazda 6 MPS

My brother had one and it was a great car
Although a bit boring to look at
