well picked up the pickup earlier from where its been parked for the last 3 weeks and as always it started straight away, drove it the half a mile to the garage and the horrid banging and noise was gone but rusty discs were making a noise. no problem that will soon wear off. chucked it in the garage for a bit of a clean tried to start it an hour later and no chance put a bit of fuel in it and eventually it started but now its missing like a pig to say im a bit pissed off is an understatement. as it stands im going to the pub right now straight from work before i smash the piece of jobby to bits with a hammer. my day has gone from bad to worse.

thoughts are water has got in the fuel tank but thats nothing a good fire under the muffin thing wont sort out

got a spare dizzy? also check your fuel pump, mine did the same in its death throws

If you suspect water in the fuel, disconnect the fuel line where it enters the fuel rail, turn the ignition on, and get the pump to pump some fuel into a clear container of some sort, and then just watch it to see if it separates.

I'd also check to make sure you're getting a spark on all 4 of the plugs. I had my old 2.0i act up on me and one of the plugs had just decided to pack in when I had a few cold nights. New set of plugs and away I went

does it have problems starting when warm?

its been parked up a mates house for three weeks on a slant fuel filler side up and its pissed down for weeks.

maroon gone in a flash got a dizzy but im sure its fuel related and pump is my next step if fuel is clean
