Merc E Class
I would like to pick the Forums brains(from some who have any)
Because I am disabled until the surgeons get at my knees and back I am unable to drive the Prelude(auto) far and Jenny cannot drive due to Illness and needing a new knee. I need a spare car to complement the Soarer for the winter.
I am having the Ludes rear arches replaced and some other jobs done on it shortly. When it comes back I am going to tuck it up in the garage nice and warm for the winter and hopefully when we are fixed by the spring we will be able to use it more often.
I intend to keep it taxed insured and MOT'd
The Soarer is a pain in the backside in Ice and snow(to much torque) the first snowflake has its wheels spinning and any graidiant forget it! If its a mild winter it suits my disabilities fine.
This brings me to the point of the above.
1 I have been offered an X plate Merc 2.0 E class saloon with full leather interior a years MOT and tidy apart from a small amount of rust in the usual place (front wings) 66K on the clock for £400. The plan is to use it over the next few months and sell it. Is the value about right for this car?
2 Both my wife and I have full NCD and neither is over £200 could I insure a second car in either name without getting raped by the insurance companies?

I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

I can't get my merc off the slight gradient on my drive in the snow, but 245/35/18 tyres probably have a bit to do with that. Having said how sh1t they are in the snow we don't get a lot of it do we.
if it aint broke don't fix it https://www.facebook.com/pages/tram-roa ... 8502699270

Should have kept my Impreza tucked away for winter instead of giving it away to a friend who needed a car. On second thoughts it was a manual and I can't drive them with my disability at the moment. I have decided to drop the E class idea.
I will hibernate instead and use a Taxi in bad weather if needed!
