Difference between starter motors

Hello people new to all this forum stuff, a step forward from Facebook etc lol, anyway my starter motor is on its way out and brand new the price is coming in at nearly 300 for just the motor so I'm gonna remove from one being broken, thing is I've got a code on mine saying p5k and the ones im finding even though off the same model and engine size car have p5m on them, is there any difference in these and will a p5m fit into my car replacing the p5k? probably one is from an auto the other from a manual car

Believe auto and manual starter motors are different?

What is yours? Manual or auto?

Wurlycorner is right, auto and manual 5th gen starter are different and won't fit ...

I found this one and the code p5k is the same but the numbers starting sh are different in hoping this is due to it being a 2000 model and mine being 1997
