No this isn't a thread to let rip in... On a sensible note, of recent I've noticed a few valued members have blatantly had enough of the 4th gen vs 5th gen/ATTS banter. At first I thought it was just something I said, but I've just read a second post for the first time and I can see that one had blown up even worse.

I myself am normally one of the worst for laying into 5th genner's, but if it is genuinely upsetting those members, even though they must obviously know it's a joke, should we stop it?...

TBH to try and put a ban on the "banter" just isn't going to work, we dont want to go down the oppressive forum road. I myself got a bit funny with it on PUK a while back, like you say I just had enough of what I saw was needless swipes. But in the end if you dont like what your reading close that thread, its what I did/do. Like most people I assume peoples reactions depend on the mood they are in.

Well if they can't take a joke they should not have bought a 5th Gen!

Seriously how about a poll on this?

mechanically is the same, well they did upgrade the 5th chassis but then its slightly heavier

no not we just you should stop.

I'm with the dog lover (Merlin) if I don't like something then I just close the thread. If I do write something then people say I'm on my periods or they just negative rep me.

It is all much of a muchness, those with 5th gens get stick for those headlights and grandad image as they are more comfortable and 4th gens get stick for rust, falling apart and the like. Personally I'm still firmly in the 4th gen side but I'm not a fan of those headlights, ATTS/LSD does help things IMO but the driver has a lot to do with it. Those kinds of discussions are fine and dandy and technical info is also always good. I'll give the 5th gen owners some stick but I'll take it in equal measure too, if anyone has problems with that I post I'll be happy to revise or remove the offending post as I'm sure most would.

The shortest answer to this is don't read what you don't like, if there is some kind of very real attack on someone or a group the mods and owners can get involved if need be. Yes mood does have a fair bit to do with it too but that is where we all need to just step back and breathe because at the end of the day we are all here because of the Prelude from 1st gen to 5th gen and the epic Honda engines.

Besides, the differences between the 4th and 5th gen in real performance terms depends on so many variables like weight, base spec, tyres, brakes, the driver, clutch condition etc etc etc. Might as well just say they're both good and bad equally but in different ways, I'm still keeping my 4th gen though, looks far better and Nitin, +rep because you are win!

No you don't, you negative rep the person and then get in a sulk... hence the period comments (which you started!).

I think the biggest point that everyone is missing, is that it's all just a joke!!!

The only thing that upsets me on here, PUK or LB isn't digs at 4th gens, it's when I make a dig at a 5th gen and they think I'm serious! (And think I'm a wanker).

Are you taking the body lemonade? You just proved in the other thread. You said I will stick the badge on my 4G (that's cool and I found that funny) and then you said just to body lemonade Nitin off (why?). So -rep'd you, which I thought was fair. And you just -rep'd me because for no reason..

I still haven't voted in this jobby poll, it's worthless in my opinion. Like Merlin said, just close the thread if your finidng it disturbing or whatever reason.
