They're showing a virtual race? Something called the VAG trophy (no sniggering at the back) which is a properly set up race series on Forza racing or something.

What the drokk is this jobby?!
They're even giving it live commentary with 2 commentators.
Seriously?

drokk me the world is heading in such a sad, sad direction...

On a slight tangent, I can get Motors TV on my telly in the kitchen (ordinary Freeview through the aerial etc etc, no Sky or satellite) but can't tune it on the Tv in the living room which is off the same aerial.

Not really. They hold live tournaments on gtplanet with gran turismo 6. They have racing leagues and 24 hour tag races and other. I have taken part too. It's becomming so big that it's starting to go mainstream.
Heard of GT acadamy on itv3? That's basically a set time trial on gran turismo which leads to finals, a broadcasted racing boot camp then a contract offer with le man 24hour race team.
Check out how successful Lucas Ordanez has become.
In Japan They have prime time tekken and street fighter tournaments.
Not sad....well it is but I guess I'm sad. Just the way popular culture is.

Seriously? This ^^^^^ ?
I'm not having a dig at people playing the games* and racing each other across t'interweb, not my bag but I get what that's about - it's the fact that a virtual motor race is being shown as an actual race on a tv channel, with air time and live commentary for the channel being given over to it. I mean what? Why the drokk would I want to watch that? I want to watch actual cars ragging it, crashing etc. Presumably if I was into that kind of thing, I'd be playing the game or watching it in the game myself?
But seriously, if I'm not playing it, how can watching someone else play it possibly be interesting? Do you give a toss if one rendered wire frame crashes into another rendereded wire frame? Err... No, not at all. It's not dangerous, it's not exciting, it's not expensive, it's not drokking real!!!
* if people actually are having in-game car meets and they're over 17, I AM gonna have a go at that though!!!

I don't see anything wrong with it. Watch something else. Plenty of channels and plenty of time for other stuff.
