Obviously, I will be phoning Sky so that I can see if I get a cheaper quote? If not then my plans to store the car untill I retire are on the go.

Blimey! They're not normally that bad for a rough guide. Try Lancaster Insurance bud. They've worked hell of a good pricewise for me, with both the Lude and the Aerodeck. They're a kind of classic insurance, so there are a few clauses, like I'm not insured to drive other people's cars, but the undercut all the other prices I had by A LOT without even trying.
However they didn't work out that well for my younger Sister, so it does depend on your circumstances.
What were you paying last year?

Just under a £1K but only TPFT!

Couldn't afford the FC as it was over £2k. I think I live in a high risk area.
Will give Lancaster Insurance a ring later on.

Let me know how you get on. May be worth checking out their website first to get an idea of how you need to answer your questions.

I had the same trouble trying to renew mine last year
Thought, oh i've turned 26 now & have 5 years no claims, should drop from £800 to something more respectible but struggled to find anything under a grand!
Went direct to swift cover who gave me the best quote by hundreds at around £750 full comp or £600 3rd party. Went 3rd party in the end as the cost of the excess was more than I paid for the car so wouldn't bother claiming for damage to my car anyway
