:( scuffed a guys back bumper last nite driving to a mates after work and the headlight and drivers side wing is wrecked, the guy was sound he said this stuff happens he took a pic of my licence and few pics of both cars and gave me his info and then he said the insurance will sort it out and drove off, I've heard horror stories I think I'm going to get roasted, I might try and see if I can pay for the damage myself

At least it all sounds fixable bud. From the thread title I thought you were about to announce a write-off.

Did you get pictures as well? And his details? Might be worth ringing him to see what he says, but obviously don't aggravate him if he insists on going through insurance, although it will put his premium up as well even though he wasn't at fault.

Will it? I might mention it so, it was only a little tip, I got pictures of his aswell as mine, if the insurance were to look at mine they would right it off I reckon
I was pretty shaken up, I told him I'd never been in an accident I didn't know what to do he just said we will exchange details and that's it, he wrote down all his information and even though the accident happened over in north London he actually lives round the corner from my house in woodford

Replacement wing, bumper and headlight and you'll be sorted. Looks as though your bonnet is straight. If the insurance company want to see it, tell them you have parts to fix it already and if it won't cost them anything they should just leave you too it without writing off your car. If you can source another bumper for his car too maybe the insurance company doesn't need to be involved at all..

Yeah, my premium went up £30 when my 3rd gen was written off even though I wasn't at fault. Obviously £30 isn't going to break the bank, but still.

I'm sure yours won't be written off though bud.

I've sent him a text message basically saying, I feel terrible about what happened and I hope everyone was ok and when he gets a quote to let me know and I will cover it providing i can afford it, to keep both out premiums down now il just way and see what happens
