Track Day Helmet

Post by Lude-dude » Sun Feb 26, 2012 12:35 pm

Ive bought a motorcycle helmet from lidl (yes I know  )

its really nice, but is this ok to use on trackdays?

confirms to ECE-R 22.05 Homologation standard

or does it have to be FIA approved or something?

Depends on the track day, but mostly if it's not a competition any helmet should be ok.

Then there's the flip side of you only have one head so buy the most expensive helmet you can afford.

I use a motorbike helmet for any drift events that require you to wear one, but that's not very often so spending £600 on a helmet for a decent one, i'll take the risk

I have a full face motocross helmet that I've used on track.
