I got a couple of little jobs done to my lude today.
I have finally got my front lip sprayed silver and fitted (only took 13 months to do about 3 hrs work!
)
Now have a working rear fog light again.
Also got my bonnet spoiler removed and repainted. Though not complete. Was all going well until the last coat of silver and had a couple of drips that just had to land on the spoiler.
Will let the paint cure and then sand them down and try again.

Thanks guys. It does look good. I'll upload some more luxuries later when I give it a wash (from all the fapping mess)
Andy, if the red door panels comes up for cheap then I'll have them but at the moment the car already has red carpet/centre-console so it does match nicely. I will get some red mats in the future.

I got underneath my car, to find the weld to the flange at the end of the downpipe has rusted and completely split, only about 5mm still holding on. That will explain the blowing that started on the way back from Le Mans
Damn previous owner, doing a half arsed bodge job when putting the car together.

This afternoon, Lisa and I turned out about a third of the shed, so I could identify some crap to throw out and make space for the circular saw, which has been living in its 'temporary' home (under a tarpaulin in a half built greenhouse) for 5 years now
This is obviously not a notable event, except for the amount of car parts I found that I'd completely forgotten I had!

There are loads of parts in there, but the surprises buried in there were;
For the lude? Well who'd have thought I would have FOUR used rear lower screen trims?
For the CX's, I discovered I had all the mechanics of an a/c system (compressor, condenser, drier and pipework), another spare front series 1 (chrome) bumper and both sides of the series 1 (chrome) front bumper fenders. Oh and 2 doors
How the hell had I completely forgotten I had them?

Ah, the £140 ebay-special manifold/downpipes have finally given up the ghost after about 8 years, have they?Gayno wrote:I got underneath my car, to find the weld to the flange at the end of the downpipe has rusted and completely split, only about 5mm still holding on. All will be revealed in a couple of weeks...

EDIT:
Gratuitous shots of my 4th gen taken on Sunday. It's not been washed for about 2 months so is filthy, but I looked at it parked up in the barn, glinting in the sunlight and thought "phwoar!" so had to take a couple of snaps

I love my car
