Today I planned to go meet an old friend and get a pub lunch in, with the dogs and then take them up the downs for a walk. Afterwards I was going to crack on with my Mk2 Golf. Hasn't quite worked out that way though
Just after I got up, the dogs were in the lounge with me and they were playing with tennis balls. 3 tennis balls between 2 dogs to be precise. Which of course ended up with them having a split second scrap because they both wanted the same ball
nothing out of the ordinary, except I hear a horrible yelp from one of them
his brother had caught his eye with his claw and cut his lower eyelid in half
anyway I've bundled him in the 4x4 and rushed him to the emergency vets in Eastbourne. He's in for surgery now to stitch everything up, but all in all been a bit of a traumatic day. Luckily the dog is fine, and he hasn't been in any distress at all since the initial cut. He's probably been wondering why Laura and I were getting so distressed as he didn't seem to be aware he was hurt
So yeah, pets, great fun
will be picking the wounded one up shortly so that will be the rest of the day written off as I'll be watching him like a hawk. They had to pick a sunny day to do this didn't they

Just got home and settled from picking up the dog - first thing he did when he got in was go pick up the contested tennis ball

He's a bit groggy from his general anaesthetic still, so he's moping around a bit feeling sorry for himself now. I don't have a before shot, but the vet has stitched up him quite well, no more lower eyelids flapping around loose from their face:

Bet that stings, lucky for him he's been prescribed painkillers and and anti-inflamattories. And I guess lucky me will be administering those for the next fortnight

Laura is on it, he's gone straight to his mum for sympathy now he's settledlewd lude lover wrote:care for your fur babies
