They probably saw what a fat bloke I am and decided to do me a favour by keeping them away from me.

Helped my mate who runs a body shop to put this 1936 Rolls-Bentley back together. Beautiful isn't it.

Nice ,Roller, an old mate of mine had a Mallalieu Bentley, rare as rocking-horse, beautiful machine and a head-turner. Forgive my ignorance, but when and where is the national meet/ No guffaws please, my brain's still in the Far east.

Yep. Equivalent spec/mileage one on eBay atm locally (but manual and black leather, both of which are less desirable in this market) for £6.5k

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251493531155? ... 1423.l2649

Plus his has had ECU remap (power!) and has a classic Essex reg plate that he's obviously keeping, so he has costs to re-register it first.

Considering the inconvenience and emotional distress for smashing up his pride and joy, it's a fair sum!

Looking for a (small) plus side for me, after I've changed the wheel bearing (hope that's all that the thrumming is - and got past the 350lb/ft hub nut in the process   ) I have a tow car to move the rest of my CXs... :| Will have to see what I can get back on it after fixing the rest up (it's all perfectly do-able, nothing terminal, just effort and more cash).
