Cheers ;)

I had an astra turbo coupe before I got into ludes, basically the same motor as the vxr minus a few horses and couple other bits. Nice car to look at, great on the motorway but corners were a pain in the arse! As was the tyre chewing or trying to pull of quickly in the wet.

I had many moments in that car which went something like this; Oh I've got some grip finally, ah, here comes the 200lb/ft of torque from the turbo at 2000rpm, oh never mind.

The only way i'll know if i like it, is if i do it. Feck sake lol!

Not telling you what to do bud, just passing on some experience. Here's an idea for you tho;

http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/clas ... 002/992022

This is the silver version of my old car. Before you throw £1500 at sleeving a block, buy one of these and see if you like high power FWD turbo's first. If you do sell it on, for what would probably be the same price, and build a monster lude knowing you'll be happy with the final product :D

Or you can tell me to stop talking bollocks, either way :lol:

Craig, it was a megane coupe F7R (same engine as a williams clio) it had very aggressive high lift cams, solid lifters, ALOT of head work and uprated springs / retainers. Rev'd round to 8500 RPM with a full stainless system and EGR valve taken out (they have these as standard) It went like FECK. But the amount of cash that cost me, and the hassle / stress and unreliability, was just not worth it in the end =(

F7r would have needed throttle bodies to make 220 bhp, trust me :lol:

I got doubted alot about my coupe, everyone on the forums said "180 with good headwork and cams" sorry but its doable, just costs a small fortune.

But on another note! Noones mentioned turbo lag and throttle response differences between n/a and turbo, if you love instant response and power delivery, stay n/a! Turbo cars drive completely different and different throttle control techniques are needed with the two types of engine while in the twisty bits :lol:

Sorry to be a doubter but no chance mate I had a f7r'd Clio 16v with head work, cat cams, full exhaust and hill power intake and map and it maxed at 192bhp, more compression and tb's for 200+ ;)

What are you on about. :lol:

N/A: foot to the floor and hold on.
