4th gen VS 5th gen banter (Poll added)

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Should the banter between 4th gen owners and 5th gen owners stop?...

Yes, I am a 4th gen owner, I've had enough as it upsets me.

The Scorpion and the Frog

One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.

The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn't see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.

Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.

"Hellooo Mr. Frog!" called the scorpion across the water, "Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?"

"Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?" asked the frog hesitantly.

"Because," the scorpion replied, "If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!"

Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. "What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!"

"This is true," agreed the scorpion, "But then I wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the river!"

"Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?" said the frog.

"Ahh...," crooned the scorpion, "Because you see, once you've taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!"

So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog's back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog's soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.

Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog's back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.

"You fool!" croaked the frog, "Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?"

The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog's back.

"I could not help myself. It is my nature."

So…serious discussion and then BAM! He’s back in the banter game. I’m confused.

So by taking part in this thread and then resulting back to the banter, we all agree to disagree and things will, well just take there natural order I guess.

I would think most other cars have there 'generation' or 'mark' slated between their community, people all have there own opinions.

I don't think anyone is out to hurt anybody's feelings. But your voices have been heard so maybe (JUST MAYBE!) some may tread carefully in the future...

...1st GEN FTW!

Well I sure hope you cut and pasted that, because if that last line was all you needed....

... So who was the frog then?

I have to say, while I get the point, that is the worst fabel ever - can be taken to mean any action that feels natural to one. Now that's a scary thought. Take that serious if you want, or take it on the banter side with a little sexual thought thrown in for good measure. A little sprinkling of Nitin, some seasoning with tension and finally serve me an otter and a furby please.

Tuck into that meal, cos I'm loosing the will with this thread.

Pretty suprised at how this is all panning out.... :o

LLL I always had you down as one of the most outspoken members of the forum, that's in no way meant as a dig btw, so I find it quite a surprise that you're one of the offended ones.
I think I've seen this kind of banter between generations/models since I've had my car - 10 years now - and it is totally par for the course TBH. EP3's were always bread vans, S2K's were hairdressers cars, DC2's were 'championship magnolia' The insults change slightly over the years - at one time ALL ludes were barges to the civic owners, who are driving their mums car of course....
Quite frankly you should drive a car for yourself and not really GAF whether anyone else likes it.

However, I CAN totally understand the annoyance of interesting threads/topics being derailed by it though, there is a time and a place for banter, and it's not in every topic. Not to be ironic, but I noticed this with the 'pervs' recently  :-P, but they have their own little pen to play in now so thats all good. :D

I personally can take the whole 4g=rust banter, but then I don't really dish any out either.
If anyone is really taking this all too seriously, I suggest it's one of two things - actual bullying of different car owners (doubtful IMO since I think most prelude owners would admit to liking/being interested in all models - look how popular the 1st gen threads are  ) or owners being a bit precious about what is, essentially, the same car underneath whether we all like it or not.
