Finally back from the US and today if I can be bothered I may start developing my trip photos... 12 rolls x 36 exposures... 432 photos. I'll bet I can still get them up quicker than @wurlycorner does his.

Before sleeping last night (meaning early early this morning) I'd only had 11 hours kip since getting up 7am Saturday. Combination of driving, buses, planes, trains and lack of sleep means everything still feels like it's moving. Now the boiler is on the fritz so I've got be be semi with it for the plumber.

Fit on the phone, add two stone!

He was handsome I guess, too tall though.

And I need a new boiler :suicide: Sounds like a scene tbh

While I was away the person housesitting said the boiler would just fire up randomly, noticed it last night too, just keeps switching on for a few seconds when the water isn't even in use.

I forget what he said exactly now but it's something like motherboard (or something like that) fault caused it to switch on/off intermittently, but no hot water is being pumped anywhere so it just boils up, then this has affected a bunch of other things over the last 3 weeks. Repairable but cheaper to just buy a new one. I'm covered on insurance so...

Is this a combi/condensing boiler?
That might not be a fault, it might just be a setting on the boiler has been changed...
Some have a setting where you make them do just that - they keep the water inside the boiler permanently hot, so you get instant hot water with virtually no delay when you turn the tap on. You can turn that off, so that they only fire up when the tap is turned on (uses a bit less energy in theory but you also get delay).
Worth checking that...

I forget what he said exactly now but it's something like motherboard (or something like that) fault caused it to switch on/off intermittently, but no hot water is being pumped anywhere so it just boils up,
"Yeah mate, I'm an expert on these boilers. See this all the time. It's the motherboard... thingy..."
"I could repair it but you're probably better off buying a new one for the cost of it. Do you have service cover?"
"Oh you do :hurr: well yeah, then I definitely recommend you need a new boiler"

Did the conversation go something like that?

What make is the boiler?

EDIT:
I forgot... You live in Naaaaaaaaarrrrrrfolk. Probably still don't have mains gas yet, so this is some ancient coal burner, right? ;) :P
