Hmmm. Not sure about this one....the Director, José Padilha, did Elite Squad (Which was pretty good, documentary-ish), but the writers are a mixed bunch. The cast is kind of obvious, and, with a couple of exceptions (Eg. Leon, where he was terrible as usual) Gary Oldman is usually worth avoiding.... :D

Hope it's good. Not optimistic though.

Hmmmmm, looks like a good remastered movie, but it wont be a robocop movie if they dont keep it to almost the same story line, whuch so far its looking unlikely.
They need at least a few of the famous scenes and phrases, ie. "Id buy that for a dollar" or the toxic waste guy getting splattered !

I disagree. I never see the point in a complete remake. I definitely think re-invent some of the main characters (ie. how they became to be), and a few familiar lines for the true fans yes, but what's the point in the exact same storyline?

The only think that looks to be bad about this is how much it looks like he interacts with his family after "the event" and that he's aware of himself.

I'm not into this current Hollywood fascination with ruining amazing movies from the 80's and early 90's. This, much like the new Total Recall, can go do one.

I enjoyed the Total Recall remake, because I took it for it's own film. Think that's what you need to do with them... Don't compare them. It is always disappointing when they make what was an 18 a 12A though, because that does really limit the films potential and what could be.

i completely agree nafe but whislt watching a couple of 12's and 15's latley i found myself thinking "how is this not an 18!"
a little while back a drop of blood or the sight of anything above knee would class a film as 18, but not so much anymore.

I eagerly await the day it's the norm to see every vaginal crevice in full Odeon glory.

My thoughts exactly.

Was speaking to my mate about this yesterday, and he reckons the machine side of him is supposed to take over more when in combat. So maybe it will be more like him being conflicted between his conscious self & his machine self. But we will see.

I liked the original though, where he didn't know what he was, but slowly remembered.
