If the rust is construed as structual or unsafe for seat belt anchorage it will fail. I have no idea about seat squabs or backs though. Having watched a number of my cars go through MOT's over the years I have never seen any tester wiggle the rear seats just check the belts. If you have any rust holes they will pick them up from underneath the car.
I don't know if it still the case,but it was. If you take your windscreen out you don't need wipers or washers. That is a bit extreme though!

Yup this is true, you don't need wipers or washers if there is another way for the driver to clear his view ie fold down/removable windscreens.

My ex's sol didn't auto wipe when you put the screen wash on and that was by design. It never failed for that.

As long as they can get the wipers and the wash to operate, they won't be bothered about what combination of switches it needs...

my vans auto wipe doesn't work and neither does the intermittent setting but it still passes as for the seat, can you make a new tab and fix make a decent fix of it? Saves spending time and money on a bodge or dodge. Id still cut that screw down though and try and get rid of the rust then repaint it with hammerite or something as it will only get worse and you'll have the same worries next year.
