had a MkII cavalier SRi 130, myself, cracking car at the time, Glacier White over Anthracite Black, with colour matched pepperpot wheels, it 'only' did 240k miles before I sold it for 800 quid, had 14 years faultless service out of it as well

Vauxhalls tend to be decent if a little bland cars for the most part the earlier models were overengineered but still capable fast road cars with decent chassis's

I had a Mk 3 Chavalier TD.

It was an absolute turd. It cost me £50, and I felt cheated.
The turbo popped on the first day I had it, the plastic clips that held on the anti roll bar (yes, really) used to snap on a regular basis, it went through ~2 litres of oil per month, it ran hot and would overheat if the blowers weren't left on hot, it would frequently lose half of its coolant with no explanation, all 4 shocks were shot, the drivers side front lower wishbone bushes had disintegrated which made some very man sized clonking noises under heavy braking, the back box wasn't attached, the pipe had rusted through letting the muffler swing side to side on corners, throttle response was so poor that I didn't need to move my right foot when changing gear, the back of the drivers seat was wedged up with a bit of wood.....the list goes on.

Yet oddly when it went to the scrappy, I felt a little sad
