It maybe but if it only happens a couple times over long periods they can't do a lot.mercutio wrote:yeah but that sort of thing is recorded
Nothing's ever been said when I've done it. Covered me once for a complete trip to the ring in a friends car to share the driving lol

Er no.106pete wrote:You know you can insure a car fully then just cancel it within 14 days and it'll only cost you £25?
Let's assume the premium is £500, 14 days pro rata will be circa a £20 time on risk charge. Without NCB the premium is likely to be more like £1000 though, so 14 days will be more like £40.
Then there could be the insurers admin fee of £25, plus the agent/broker's "reasonable" fee of £25 to £50 depending on the TOBA.
So the end result could well be £100+ by trying it on with the cooling off period.

You took out dual annual insurance on a car you didn't own? Oh dear, good job you didn't crash it. What did you answer when it came to the ownership and registered keeper questions?106pete wrote:It maybe but if it only happens a couple times over long periods they can't do a lot.mercutio wrote:yeah but that sort of thing is recorded

Most insurers will still cover temporary additions if you own the car. It is just the cheap online jobbies that are usually restrictive as they are automated with no human intervention.wurlycorner wrote:Shiny, I find very few insurers do temporary additional vehicles these days. That always used to be my route too, but it sucks these days.
Tempcover and sky do short term (incl. one day) policies.
